Raipur, August 24, 2025. On the very first day of World Expo 2025 in Osaka (Japan), the Chhattisgarh Pavilion became the center of attraction. More than 22,000 visitors experienced the unique glimpse of Chhattisgarh’s cultural heritage, industrial progress, and tourism potential on the opening day.
At the invitation of the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Chhattisgarh is actively participating in the India Pavilion from August 24 to 30.
Glimpses of Culture, Tourism, and Heritage
The pavilion has been designed to provide visitors with a vibrant experience of Chhattisgarh. It beautifully showcases the state’s rich cultural traditions, major tourist destinations, and historical legacy.
Nava Raipur, India’s first greenfield smart city, remained a special attraction.
Chitrakote Waterfall, popularly known as the “Niagara of India,” captured the attention of visitors.
Sirpur, one of India’s largest Buddhist sites dating back to the 8th century, highlighted the shared cultural heritage of India and Japan, spreading the message of peace and sustainable development inspired by Buddhist philosophy.
Industrial Strength and Investment Potential
The pavilion emphasized Chhattisgarh’s strategic geographic location and its multimodal transport network, which positions the state as India’s largest logistics hub.
Progress in sectors such as manufacturing, textiles, IT/ITES, electronics, and village industries was also showcased, projecting Chhattisgarh as an investment-ready destination for global investors.
Identity Through Art and Craft
Chhattisgarh’s identity was also reflected in its art and handicrafts. Bastar’s Dhokra art, a 4,000-year-old GI-tagged metal craft, fascinated visitors with its raw beauty and authenticity. Similarly, Kosa silk, considered the cultural soul of the state, became a major attraction for its natural sheen, strength, and elegance. Artistic installations made of Kosa silk expressed Chhattisgarh’s true essence—where spirituality, nature, and development coexist in balance.
Strong Global Presence
With a record number of visitors on the very first day, the Chhattisgarh Pavilion has set the tone for the coming week at World Expo 2025. The pavilion is not only a celebration of cultural diversity but also showcases Chhattisgarh as a rising hub of sustainable industrial growth and global investment opportunities.
