Raipur, September 14, 2025. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated a new initiative for tourism and agricultural revolution from the Chief Minister’s camp office in Bagiya on Sunday. Through this initiative, Jashpur’s tourism and agricultural development will move toward self-reliance with a focus on eco-tourism and homestay policies. The direct beneficiaries will be self-help groups and farmers.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda, Sarguja Tribal Development Authority Vice-Chairperson and Pathalgaon MLA Gomti Sai, Jashpur MLA Raymuni Bhagat, District Panchayat President Salik Sai, Collector Rohit Vyas, SSP Shashi Mohan Singh, District Panchayat CEO Abhishek Kumar, and a large number of public representatives and citizens were present on the occasion.
A New Identity in Tourism and Development
Addressing the program, Chief Minister Sai said that Chhattisgarh is moving steadily towards development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” Certificates were also distributed to self-help groups and youth engaged in tourism initiatives in Jashpur.
The Chief Minister recalled that after taking office, he had introduced the Jashpur Jamboree to put the district on the tourism map. The first Jashpur Jamboree in 2024 attracted visitors from neighboring states and promoted eco-tourism, adventure sports, and tribal traditions.
Preserving Cultural Heritage and Local Employment
The 2024 Jashpur Jamboree featured cultural performances, local cuisine fairs, and tribal dances that captivated tourists. It also created employment opportunities for local artisans and guides. The Chief Minister announced that the next edition of the Jashpur Jamboree will be held from November 6 to 9, 2025. The festival will showcase Karma and Sarhul tribal dances, Godna tattoo art, woodcraft, iron craft exhibitions, and cultural evenings based on folk theatre. This will not only preserve cultural heritage but also provide global recognition to local art and handicrafts.
Tourism as an Industry
Under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, new facilities like boating, a cactus garden, and tent stays have been added at Mayali Nature Camp. The world’s largest natural Shivling at Madheshwar Hills has been recognized in the Golden Book of World Records, giving Jashpur both spiritual and cultural prominence.
The Chief Minister highlighted the implementation of the Homestay Policy, which allows tourists to experience tribal culture and lifestyle while generating employment for local communities. Festivals like Jashpur Jamboree will directly benefit guides, artisans, and homestay operators. The goal is to establish it as an annual mega-event to attract international tourists.
To boost global outreach, Jashpur tourism will be promoted through GIS mapping and digital marketing. Training will also be provided to youth and stakeholders to meet international standards.
Jashpur Jamboree 2024: A Glimpse
The first Jashpur Jamboree in 2024 blended adventure, culture, and community participation. Visitors explored Rani Dah, Tea Gardens, and the Jashpur Museum, while enjoying tribal dances like Sarhul and Karma. Local cuisine with a modern twist added to the charm, making the four-day festival a vibrant mix of culture and adventure.
Jashpur Jamboree 2025: A Grand Return
Scheduled from November 6 to 9, 2025, the upcoming Jashpur Jamboree promises a larger scale with rock climbing, rappelling, ziplining, trekking, water sports at Mayali Dam, paramotoring, and hot-air balloon rides. Tribal dances, folk music, handicraft workshops, theatre, and authentic local cuisine will enhance the visitor experience. Traditional games, team-building activities, and bonfires under starry skies will make it unforgettable. The aim is to connect participants with nature, tradition, and community spirit.
