India defeated New Zealand by seven wickets on Friday to take a 2–0 lead in the five-match T20 International series. The match was played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.
Put in to bat after losing the toss, New Zealand scored 208 for six in their 20 overs. Captain Mitchell Santner remained unbeaten on 47, while Rachin Ravindra scored 44. The visitors built a solid total but could not put enough pressure on the Indian batting later in the match.
India made light work of the chase, reaching the target in 15.2 overs with three wickets down. Ishan Kishan gave the innings early momentum with a quick 76. Captain Suryakumar Yadav then ensured there were no setbacks, staying unbeaten on 82 and finishing the match in style.
The win gives India a clear advantage in the series, while New Zealand will need a strong comeback in the next game to stay alive.
