The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for several districts in Chhattisgarh, as weather conditions across the state change rapidly. Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by winter showers (mawatha), is expected on Wednesday, which could impact standing crops.
Fog and Reduced Visibility Across Districts
The state capital, Raipur, has been shrouded in dense fog since early morning, reducing visibility. Similar foggy and misty conditions have been reported from other parts of the state, including Bilaspur and Durg divisions.
Rain and Thunder Predicted in Surguja Division
According to the Meteorological Department, most districts of the Surguja division may experience rainfall along with the possibility of thunder and lightning in some areas.
Temperature Drop to Intensify Cold
Meteorologists have forecast a decline in minimum temperatures by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius in many districts. The drop in temperature is expected to increase the cold spell across the state over the coming days.
Health Department Advises Caution
The Health Department has urged residents to take precautions amid the changing weather. Officials highlighted that the increase in cold and moisture levels could raise the risk of seasonal illnesses, especially among children and the elderly.
