A major healthcare outreach initiative in the Bastar division is rapidly transforming access to medical services in some of the most remote and challenging terrains. Dense forests, hilly landscapes, and isolated settlements—once marked by limited healthcare access—are now witnessing regular visits from dedicated medical teams.

Within just ten days of the campaign’s launch, more than 639,000 individuals have undergone health screenings. A large number of patients received free medicines and on-the-spot treatment, offering immediate relief in areas where medical facilities were previously scarce.

The initiative has also focused on identifying serious cases early. So far, 8,055 patients requiring advanced care have been referred to higher medical institutions for specialized treatment, ensuring timely intervention.

Screenings conducted during the campaign have revealed significant cases of various illnesses, including 1,125 cases of malaria, 3,245 of tuberculosis, 2,803 of leprosy, 1,999 instances of oral cancer, 1,527 cases of sickle cell disease, and 2,496 cataract patients. Early detection is helping reduce complications and improve treatment outcomes across the region.

To ensure efficiency, a coordinated healthcare network has been established, linking primary health centers with district hospitals, medical colleges, and super-specialty institutions. Mobile medical units and health camps are playing a crucial role in reaching inaccessible areas, ensuring that even the most remote populations receive consistent medical attention.

Additionally, digital health records under the ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) system are being created for residents. This will help maintain continuity in treatment and enable quick access to patient data when needed.

The campaign is not just expanding healthcare access but also building trust among communities that once struggled to receive even basic medical care. With services now reaching people at their doorstep, the initiative marks a significant step toward inclusive and equitable healthcare in Bastar.
