Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday unveiled the Silver Jubilee Medal dedicated to the Chhattisgarh Police Force at the Police Headquarters in Nava Raipur. The medal has been instituted to honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering service of the state police in maintaining peace and security over the past 25 years.

Congratulating police personnel on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the medal would stand as a lasting symbol of the bravery and dedication displayed by the force in protecting the people of Chhattisgarh.

Recognition of 25 Years of Service

The Chief Minister recalled that the announcement to award the Silver Jubilee Medal was made during the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, and the state government acted swiftly to formally unveil the medal within days.

He highlighted the crucial role played by the police force over the last two and a half decades, particularly in:

  • Strengthening law and order across the state

  • Conducting sustained anti-Naxal operations

  • Making supreme sacrifices in the line of duty

“This medal will forever commemorate the commitment and sacrifices of our police personnel,” CM Sai said.

Design Reflects Chhattisgarh’s Identity

Explaining the design, the Chief Minister said the medal reflects the soil, culture, and traditions of Chhattisgarh.

Key features of the Silver Jubilee Medal include:

  • Circular shape with a silver finish

  • Sal tree engraved on the front, symbolizing strength, endurance, and protection

  • Hill myna embossed on the reverse, representing vigilance, fearlessness, communication, and teamwork

  • Worn with a ribbon on the left side of the uniform

In the order of precedence, the medal will be worn after national gallantry and distinguished service decorations, including the Ashoka Chakra, Kirti Chakra, and President’s Police Medals.

Symbol of Commitment and Legacy

CM Sai noted that the Sal tree, revered in regions such as Bastar and Surguja, represents silent yet impactful contribution—much like the service rendered by the police force. The Hill myna, meanwhile, signifies alertness and close connection with local culture.

He added that the medal would serve as a mark of honor for dedication, service, and commitment toward society, while reinforcing the proud legacy of the Chhattisgarh Police.
