he Chhattisgarh Health Department has announced recruitment for 525 positions across various categories in Bastar district, offering a significant employment opportunity for healthcare-related candidates. Notably, individuals who served as COVID warriors during the pandemic will receive bonus marks in the selection process.

According to officials, the recruitment includes posts such as Staff Nurse (for both male and female candidates), Ward Boy, and Ward Aaya. These appointments will be made under Group III and Group IV services, and candidates will be selected through a test-based evaluation, after which results will be declared.

The Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Bastar, confirmed that candidates who worked continuously for at least six months in government health institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic will be eligible for bonus marks. However, applicants must submit a valid experience certificate to claim this benefit.

To obtain the experience certificate, candidates are required to apply at the CMHO office of their respective districts, providing complete details of their work during the pandemic period. Only verified certificates will be considered during the merit evaluation.

Application and Selection Timeline

Applications must be submitted offline at the district health department office. Experience certificates must be submitted by January 29, 2026, and supporting documents will be accepted only via Speed Post.

Following document scrutiny, verified information will be published on the official website of the Chhattisgarh Health Department (cghealth.nic.in) on March 10, 2026. Authorities have advised candidates not to wait until the last date and to submit all required documents well in advance.

The document verification process will begin on January 30 and continue until February 8, 2026. The provisional merit list is scheduled to be released between February 10 and February 18, 2026. Candidates will have the opportunity to raise objections or submit claims from February 19 to February 24, 2026.

The recruitment drive is being seen as a major opportunity for healthcare professionals and support staff seeking government employment, while also acknowledging the contribution of COVID warriors who served on the frontlines during the pandemic.
